SAEDNEWS: Our Foreign Minister responded to recent remarks by the U.S. President on Iran's nuclear program, stating that further insistence on a miscalculation will solve nothing.
According to the Politics Service of Saed News, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, responded to recent remarks by the U.S. President regarding Iran’s nuclear program. On the social media platform X, he wrote: “Insisting further on a miscalculation will solve nothing.”
Araghchi stated:
When I traveled for the fifth round of talks with Mr. Witkoff on May 23, I wrote:
Nuclear weapons zero = agreement possible.
Enrichment zero = no agreement in sight.
If the U.S. President were to review the minutes of these negotiations, documented by the negotiation intermediaries, he would see how close we were to celebrating a new, historic nuclear deal.
The U.S. President should remember that there was never any intelligence indicating that Iraq was hiding weapons of mass destruction. The result was unimaginable devastation: thousands of American lives lost and seven trillion dollars of taxpayers’ money wasted.
Similarly, there is no “intelligence” to suggest that, if Israel had not misled the U.S. into attacking the Iranian people, Iran would have been close to developing nuclear weapons “within a month.” With this operation foiled, Israel is now trying to portray an imaginary threat from Iran’s defensive capabilities. Americans have grown weary of fighting Israel’s “endless wars.”
Iran is a “great” country, and the Iranian people are a “great” nation, heirs to an ancient and “great” civilization. Buildings and machinery may be destroyed, but our willpower can never be undermined. Insisting further on this miscalculation solves nothing. There is no solution except reaching a “negotiated solution.”
