SAEDNEWS: The Iranian daily Jomhouri Eslami highlights the danger of infiltrators, warning that those who act under the guise of friends are more dangerous than covert spies.

Iranian Daily Warns of Hidden Infiltrators Behind Enemy Agendas

Jomhouri Eslami daily stresses the need to identify infiltrators.

According to Jomhouri Eslami, in order to counter infiltration, infiltrators must first be identified. These infiltrators fall into two categories. The first group secretly connects with intelligence agencies and carries out their missions covertly. Another name for these individuals is “spy.”

The second group, however, consists of those who act openly. They appear in the guise of friends, presenting themselves as deeply devoted, patriotic, and staunch supporters of the country, the nation, and the system. With such tactics, they gain access to the most confidential centers. Exploiting the trust they earn, they subtly dictate enemy agendas to the country’s decision-makers and thus help foreigners achieve their goals.

The newspaper added: this second category of infiltrators is far more dangerous than the first, because by exploiting the trust they build across different levels of government, they gain access to more information and inflict more severe blows: “When a thief comes with a lantern, he steals the choicest goods.”

Rulers, the daily warned, must not be deceived by outward displays of loyalty. The more someone exaggerates religious posturing, the more closely they should be monitored. The daily further noted: We have many domestic versions of Eli Cohen, Ashraf Marwan, and Catherine Shakdam—still engaged in espionage for the enemy while disguised as friends to deceive.
