SAEDNEWS: At the OIC emergency meeting in Jeddah, Iran and Pakistan urged a united Islamic stance to stop Israel’s aggression in Gaza, discussed Tehran’s nuclear file, and pledged to boost bilateral cooperation in trade, border development, and regional security.
According to Saed News, quoting IRNA, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Monday, August 25, 2025, on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the OIC foreign ministers in Jeddah, met and held talks with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest regional and international developments, particularly the dire situation in Gaza and the ongoing crimes of the Israeli regime against the defenseless Palestinian people. They stressed the need for collective, coordinated, and immediate action by Islamic countries to stop the aggression, lift the blockade, expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid, and confront the occupation plans of this regime.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also briefed his Pakistani counterpart on the latest developments regarding Iran’s nuclear file, emphasizing the transparent, peaceful, and responsible approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this matter.
Mohammad Ishaq Dar, whose country currently holds membership in the UN Security Council, praised Iran’s principled policies on the nuclear issue and underlined the key role of diplomacy in resolving the matter peacefully.
The two sides further highlighted the deep historical, religious, and cultural commonalities between Tehran and Islamabad, and emphasized expanding bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade, border development, economy, and regional security.
