Dua 43 of the Sahifa Sajjadiyya is one of the well-known and beneficial prayers for removing affliction and distress.
In the blessed book Mahj al-Du‘ā’ by the late Sayyid ibn Tawus (may God have mercy on him), a noble prayer with great benefits and extraordinary effects is recorded from the Lord of Lords, Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him). It is fitting that Shi‘a followers not be heedless of it, and that in worldly and otherworldly difficulties, and in private and social matters, they make use of it so that they may attain their desired outcome and benefit from the good of this world and the next.

The Imam’s supplication on sighting the new moon
O obediently moving creature, swift in motion, who appears and departs at the preordained stations of destiny, O agent in the celestial sphere of divine arrangement: I have faith in Him who illuminated the darkness through you, and who by your light made the obscure clear; He made you a sign among the signs of His dominion and a token among the tokens of His sovereignty. He subjected you to increase and decrease, to rising and setting, to radiance and eclipse — and in all of that you obey Him, and quickly fulfill His will.
Glory be to Him: how wondrously He has ordained your affairs, and how subtly He has fashioned your condition — He made you the small new-moon key for a fresh month in which a new matter may occur.
So I ask God — my Lord and your Lord, my Creator and your Creator, my Ordainer and your Ordainer, my Fashioner and your Fashioner — to send blessings on Muhammad and his Household, and to make you a crescent of blessing that days cannot erase; a crescent of purity the stains of sin cannot soil; a crescent of safety from afflictions and protection from evils; a crescent of good fortune without misfortune; of auspiciousness that brings no sorrow; of ease that is not mixed with hardship; of goodness unmarred by evil; a crescent of security, faith, blessing, bounty, benevolence, well-being and submission.
O God, send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household, and make us among the most pleased of those upon whom this crescent appears; among the purest who look toward it; among the happiest who worship You within it. Grant us in it the success of repentance; guard us in it from precipice and fall; protect us from committing Your disobedience by our own hands; inspire us to give thanks for Your favor; clothe us in the robe of well-being; and complete for us in it the favor of perfect obedience. Indeed You are the Bestower, Praiseworthy. And may God send blessings upon Muhammad and his pure, immaculate Household.
