SAEDNEWS: "Andrey Belousov," the Russian Defense Minister, said that the situation in West Asia has rapidly become tense, and the attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime on Iran are a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
According to SAEDNEWS, quoting TASS, Belousov said on Thursday at a meeting of defense officials from the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao, China:
“The situation in the Middle East has rapidly become tense, primarily related to the confrontation between Iran and Israel and the attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran’s infrastructure and military installations.”
He emphasized: “These attacks are a clear violation of the United Nations Charter and international law.”
The Russian Defense Minister added: “We strongly condemned the actions of Israel and the United States and announced our readiness to help reduce tensions in this conflict. We are prepared to offer mediation efforts in this process.”
In another part of his remarks, Belousov said: “The spread of terrorist ideologies from the Middle East and the transfer of militants to Afghanistan continues.”
He noted: “The ongoing instability in this country is a primary source of transnational crimes and terrorist threats in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization region.”
Referring to the positions of Western countries, Belousov said: “The activities of some countries to create anti-Russian and anti-Chinese blocs in the Asia-Pacific region have a destructive impact on the stability of this region.”
He introduced the military cooperation among Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as cooperation between the United States and South Korea, as examples of these blocs.
