Iran Downs Spy Drones over Rasht Amid Rising Domestic Tensions

According to Saed News,
Iranian officials confirmed on Tuesday night that defensive systems were swiftly activated in Rasht following an attempted drone incursion. Ali Bagheri, Deputy Governor of Gilan for Political, Security, and Law Enforcement Affairs, announced that Iranian air defenses successfully detected and neutralized several micro-drones targeting different areas of the city.

The origin of the drones was not officially disclosed, but the incident occurs against the backdrop of Israel’s apparent retreat from further military confrontation with Iran. Despite this shift, Iranian authorities continue to express concern about what they describe as “domestic agents” who remain active and disruptive within the country.

Bagheri emphasized the importance of public vigilance, calling on citizens to report suspicious activities—such as the presence of unfamiliar individuals, abnormal movements, or unusual behavior—to emergency lines 113 and 114. He noted that maintaining national security requires a cooperative effort between state institutions and the general public.

While military tensions may be cooling on an international level, the Iranian government appears increasingly focused on internal security, viewing foreign-instigated subversion as a persistent and dangerous threat.
