Saednews:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, referring to the U.S. aggression against Iran and the lawlessness of that country, emphasized: Iran considers it its right to fully defend itself against the U.S. aggression.
According to Saed News, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a statement in response to the U.S. aggression against Iran, emphasized: The Islamic Republic of Iran considers it its right to fully resist the U.S. military aggression and the crimes committed by this rogue regime and to defend the security and national interests of Iran.
The full text of the statement is as follows:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the brutal U.S. military aggression against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities — an act committed in blatant and unprecedented violation of the most fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law — and holds the warmongering and law-breaking U.S. government responsible for the very dangerous consequences arising from this major crime.
The U.S. military aggression against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of a United Nations member state — carried out in criminal collusion and cooperation with the genocidal Zionist regime — once again revealed the extreme wickedness governing U.S. policy and the depth of hostility and malice harbored by the U.S. ruling authorities toward the peace-loving and independence-seeking people of Islamic Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran considers it its right to fully resist the U.S. military aggression and the crimes committed by this rogue regime and to defend Iran’s security and national interests.
The U.S. aggression in attacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, which took place in the early hours of the tenth day of the Israeli regime’s military aggression against Iran, exposed the criminal complicity and participation of the U.S. with the Zionist regime in designing and executing the military attack on Iran.
The U.S. military attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities not only constitutes a flagrant and unprecedented violation of the UN Charter — especially the principles prohibiting the use of force and respecting territorial integrity and national sovereignty as stipulated in paragraph 4 of Article 2 — but also violates UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and delivers a devastating blow to the nuclear non-proliferation regime, all committed by a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
The Islamic Republic of Iran calls upon the United Nations, the Security Council, the Secretary-General, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and other relevant international bodies to take urgent action against this criminal breach of law and stresses that silence in the face of this blatant aggression will expose the world to an unprecedented and widespread danger.
As one of the founding members of the United Nations, the Islamic Republic of Iran expects this organization and each of its responsible members to fulfill their duties and responsibilities at this time, when the world faces a clear law violation by the United States.
We call on the UN Security Council to hold an emergency session to firmly condemn the crime of U.S. aggression against Iran and to hold that country accountable for the gross violation of international principles and rules.
The responsibility of the IAEA and its Director General — who clearly sided with the warmongering parties and provided grounds and excuses for the recent disaster — is more evident than ever. We urge the IAEA Board of Governors to hold an urgent session and fulfill its legal responsibilities regarding the dangerous U.S. attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, all of which have been under the agency’s strict supervision and safeguards agreement.
The world must not forget that it was the United States that, amid a diplomatic process, betrayed diplomacy by supporting the aggressive, genocidal, and law-breaking Israeli regime, and now, in completing the lawlessness and crimes of the Zionist regime, has begun a dangerous war against Iran.
It is now clear to all that the country which considers itself a permanent member of the Security Council abides by no rules or ethics and, in advancing the ambitions of a genocidal and occupying regime, spares no lawbreaking or crime.
