Kremlin: Israel Is Not Pursuing a Peaceful Path.

According to Saed News, quoting ISNA, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, referring to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump about evacuating Tehran's residents and the statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said: “The situation is alarming. We have heard and seen all the remarks made by Netanyahu and Trump.”

According to the RIA Novosti news agency, the spokesperson stated that Russia urges both Iran and Israel to exercise maximum restraint in order to eventually pursue a peaceful political and diplomatic resolution. The current situation in the Middle East is heading toward greater tension.

He continued: “Russia observes that Israel is not willing to pursue a peaceful path to resolve the conflict with Iran and is not seeking mediation on this issue. You know that Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed this and said that, if necessary, he is ready to mediate. However, at present, the Israelis are not interested in accepting mediation or pursuing a peaceful compromise.”

Peskov also said: “The G7 has lost its practical value and has become extremely ineffective. This group has lost its utility and appears significantly weak and useless.”

In another part of his remarks, referring to the war in Ukraine, he said: “In the coming days, an understanding of the possible timeline to resume efforts regarding Ukraine will be reached. The Russian side has fully fulfilled the promises made in Istanbul. In the coming days, there will be an agreement on the probable timeframe to continue this work.”
