According to SaedNews, quoting ISNA, the Republican-affiliated Fox News network announced that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has ordered the immediate convening of a National Security Council (NSC) meeting.
Fox News, a supporter of the U.S. president, reported Monday evening local time that President Trump has ordered the NSC meeting to be held in the White House Situation Room tonight.
Caroline Lewitt, White House spokesperson, said Trump left the G7 summit in Canada due to developments in the Middle East and returned to Washington.
The White House spokesperson noted that Trump “had a very successful day” at the G7 summit and that “many achievements were made, but due to Middle East developments, Trump will leave the summit tonight after dinner with world leaders.”
A White House official told CNN on Monday local time that the president’s statements on the social media platform Truth Social, where he urged Iranians to evacuate Tehran immediately, reflect the urgency for Iran to come to the negotiating table.
The U.S. official added that while attending the G7 summit in the Rocky Mountains of Canada, Trump has been in continuous contact with Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State, and other officials to receive the latest updates on the Iran-Israel conflict.
