Saed News: On social media, a photo of a young Egyptian girl went viral as the most look-alike face to Nefertiti in the modern world.
According to the History Desk of Saed News, Nefertiti was the Great Royal Wife (chief consort) of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten and is known as his co-ruler. She was famed for her beauty and rose to prominence after the discovery of her bust in Egypt in 1912.
Nefertiti and her husband, who worshipped only one god—Aten, the sun disk—led a religious revolution. They are renowned in the history of the pharaohs for introducing monotheism and changing the official religion. Nefertiti, who ruled alongside her husband Akhenaten during Egypt’s period of religious turmoil, is sometimes believed to have ruled as a pharaoh herself, according to some inscriptions, although archaeologists are not entirely certain. Most believe she governed Egypt as the queen and chief royal advisor.
The period of Nefertiti and Akhenaten’s reign is considered one of the most prosperous in ancient Egyptian history.
Recently, a photo of a young Egyptian woman has gone viral on social media, being described as the most striking modern-day resemblance to Queen Nefertiti. Various Egyptian media outlets have shared the image, expressing their amazement.
