As of 6 a.m. Saturday, Natural Resources Wales had issued four severe flood warnings, indicating a “significant risk to life and major disruption to communities.” A yellow weather warning for rain affecting central and northern England, the south-west, and Wales expired at 6 a.m. South Wales Fire and Rescue declared a major incident in Monmouth following “severe and widespread” flooding across the town and nearby areas. Emergency crews, including police, ambulance services, mountain rescue teams, the coastguard, and neighboring fire services, are conducting welfare checks, evacuations, and rescues.
