SAEDNEWS: Saqez Police Chief Reports Armed Clash at Local Gold Mine: 1 Dead, 3 Injured
According to the Police News Agency, Colonel Mohammad Sadegh Pirouzi stated that following a report from the 110 Emergency Police Center about an armed clash at the gold mine in the village of Qolqoleh, Saqqez, law enforcement officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
He added that during the confrontation, two mine workers opened fire with firearms, injuring four individuals who were promptly taken to the hospital.
The Saqqez Police Commander continued, regrettably noting that one of the victims succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
Colonel Pirouzi emphasized the police’s swift response to the incident, stating: “The safety and peace of citizens is a red line for the police, and anyone who disrupts public order will be dealt with decisively under the law.”
