SAEDNEWS: Pezeshkian said Iran’s policy of promoting cohesion and cooperation with neighboring and regional states is rooted in Islamic teachings.
President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized Tehran’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Lebanon and other regional states, highlighting the importance of mutual respect and shared interests. He stressed that Iran-Lebanon relations should be built on the principles of “justice and fairness.”
Speaking Monday in Doha during a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on the sidelines of the emergency summit of Islamic and Arab leaders, Pezeshkian noted that Iran’s approach to fostering cohesion with neighboring and regional states is rooted in Islamic teachings.
“We believe in treating others as we would like to be treated ourselves. If this principle is observed, there will be no obstacles in relations and interactions. I hope Iran and Lebanon can further enhance their relations based on justice and fairness,” he said.
Pezeshkian also condemned the actions of the Israeli regime, stating that its behavior clearly shows disregard for international norms and boundaries.
“What we are witnessing from the Israeli regime today reflects its aggressive and brutal nature. More regrettably, countries that claim to defend freedom and human rights have not only remained silent regarding the killing and starvation of people in Gaza but continue to provide military and legal support to this regime,” he added.
President Aoun welcomed the meeting, affirming Lebanon’s commitment to nurturing friendly ties with Iran grounded in mutual respect and shared interests. He expressed full agreement with Pezeshkian’s remarks and voiced hope that both countries could overcome obstacles and expand cooperation.
Aoun also condemned Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic, noting that while differences among countries are natural, obstacles to deepening bilateral relations can be overcome through understanding and sustained cooperation.
