Devastation in Gaza: 42 Killed in Israeli Airstrikes, Including Entire Family

At least 42 people have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza on Friday, according to local hospital sources cited by Al-Jazeera. The majority of the victims—33 people—died in Gaza City and other areas in northern Gaza, Press TV reported.

Among the casualties, an ambulance source confirmed that one person was killed in an apartment targeted in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. In a particularly tragic incident, 14 members of the same family were killed in a single attack in the at-Twam area near Gaza City.

The attacks come as Israel continues its push to occupy the Gaza Strip, starting with Gaza City, the territory’s largest urban center. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that Gazans are “trapped with nowhere safe to go.” In a social media post, the agency highlighted the growing humanitarian crisis, stating: “Families continue to face extreme conditions and rising food insecurity,” and called for an immediate ceasefire before the situation worsens.

This escalation follows a conflict that began on October 7, 2023, when Palestinian resistance fighters launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in response to Israel’s decades-long campaign against Palestinians. Since March 2, Israel has sealed all border crossings into Gaza, blocking humanitarian aid and intensifying the humanitarian disaster.

The ongoing onslaught has so far claimed the lives of over 64,718 Palestinians, most of them women and children, highlighting the extreme toll on civilians and the urgent need for international intervention.
