Fostering Solidarity: ‘Unity Week’ Bridges Divides in the Muslim World

Addressing her weekly press conference on Tuesday, Iranian government spokesperson Mohajerani extended her congratulations to Muslims on the occasion of Unity Week in Iran, which commemorates the birth anniversaries of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (PBUH). She emphasized that Muslim unity poses a challenge to the enemies of Islam and argued that stronger global unity among Muslims could prevent tragedies in Islamic lands, including occupied Palestine.

Referring to remarks by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Mohajerani highlighted the Leader’s call for prioritizing serving the people and strengthening national solidarity and integrity.

On President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to China, she explained that the trip centered around the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, aiming to counter unilateralism. The visit also led to the signing of 24 cooperation documents and included discussions on strategic positions shared by China, Russia, and Iran, particularly concerning the “snapback” issue.

Regarding Pezeshkian’s upcoming participation in the United Nations General Assembly, Mohajerani noted that the trip will focus on protecting Iran’s national interests, voicing the Iranian perspective, and holding bilateral meetings with officials from various countries.

She also addressed Iran’s relations with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stressing that any cooperation will adhere strictly to the framework of the new national law.
