SAEDNEWS: Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said the success of China’s initiative on global governance reform hinges on the complete execution of all its components.

Success of Global Governance Reform Depends on Full Implementation: Pezeshkian

In an interview with China Central Television (CCTV) during his visit to Beijing, Pezeshkian said the global governance reform program seeks to replace unilateralism with a multilateral and justice-oriented approach. He emphasized that the initiative aims to address double standards that allow the Israeli regime and its supporters to ignore international legal frameworks while claiming to uphold human rights.

The Iranian president stressed the need for countries opposing unilateralism to stand alongside China, warning that the ambitions of totalitarian states should not derail international cooperation through unjust sanctions. He described China’s Belt and Road Initiative as a strategic framework designed to foster cooperation for peace, security, and shared prosperity, his official website reported.

Pezeshkian also criticized the double standards applied by proponents of unilateralism regarding the activation of the JCPOA snapback mechanism, noting that countries who have violated the agreement themselves accuse Iran of non-compliance.

On cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), he expressed dissatisfaction with the agency’s conduct toward Iran, while reaffirming the Islamic Republic’s willingness to engage within accepted international frameworks free from bias.

Regarding the threat of military aggression from the Israeli regime, Pezeshkian stated that Iran does not seek war or unrest but is fully capable of defending itself.

Reflecting on China’s development, he praised the country’s targeted and expertly managed progress, noting remarkable improvements in Beijing since his last visit a decade ago, particularly in air quality and traffic conditions.
