SAEDNEWS: The presidents of Iran and Russia held a telephone conversation to review the regional and international issues, including the Ukraine crisis, Iran’s nuclear program, and developments in the South Caucasus.
In the telephone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin briefed his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on the main outcomes of the recent Russian-American summit held in Alaska’s Anchorage, the Kremlin reported.
The Iranian president expressed support for the ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.
The two presidents also discussed a number of pressing issues on the bilateral agenda, including cooperation in the fields of energy and transportation.
They also touched upon the situation surrounding Iran’s nuclear program and developments in the South Caucasus region.
Putin and Pezeshkian reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding Russian-Iranian cooperation in various areas and agreed to meet at the upcoming SCO summit in China.
