Pezeshkian: National Issues Require Practical Action

President Masoud Pezeshkian says mere slogans are unable to make a difference in a society, calling for adopting concrete steps to deal with the pressing issues faced by the country.

The Iranian president made the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the 38th national conference of heads of education on Monday, noting that empty promises are unable to rebuild the country, nor can coercion change behavior.

He underscored the vital role of teachers and schools in shaping the nation’s future, urging focus on nurturing a generation that loves their country, cares for its citizens, and actively seeks to solve problems.

Pezeshkian lamented the gap between words and deeds in society, noting that many speeches are delivered while few actions are taken.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that the best individuals are not those who win Nobel prizes. “If I am a genius but betray the people’s trust, that is not true genius,” he added.
