SAEDNEWS: Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC)'s Ground Forces for Operations Brigadier General Valiollah Madani has said that the country is fully prepared for potential threats.
Speaking at a session of Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission on Tuesday, Brigadier General Madani presented a detailed report on the recently held Sahand-2025 joint anti-terrorism exercise in East Azerbaijan province, conducted in cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The drill, previously held in countries such as India and China, saw participation from 10 nations this year, Madani told lawmakers. Its primary goals were enhancing military knowledge, fostering a shared understanding of terrorism, and facilitating the exchange of experience among SCO member states.
The exercise involved nine SCO member countries, alongside four guest states—Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Azerbaijan—with 111 senior security and military commanders attending.
Parliamentary spokesman Ebrahim Rezaei highlighted Madani’s remarks on the IRGC Ground Forces’ measures during the recent 12-day Israeli war against Iran, underscoring their readiness to defend the country’s vital centers.
“We are at the apex of readiness. The Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to respond to any threat with full force and will not allow any hostile act against the nation,” Madani told the commission.
Commission members unanimously praised the IRGC Ground Forces for successfully executing the Sahand-2025 exercise and commended the efforts of commanders, staff, and guards in defending Iran’s borders against terrorists and hostile forces.
