SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held talks with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, calling for greater cooperation and solidarity among Muslim countries in the region to compel the Israeli regime to halt its genocidal actions and warmongering.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a significant meeting in Amman, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Jordan’s King Abdullah II on October 16, 2024. The key topic was the urgent need for Muslim countries to unite and take action against what Araghchi described as Israel's “genocidal actions” and war efforts.
During their talks, Araghchi expressed his deep worry about the difficult conditions faced by displaced people in Gaza and Lebanon. He highlighted that these individuals are suffering without access to basic necessities, as noted in a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry. He urged Muslim nations to work together to gather and send humanitarian aid to those in need in the region.
King Abdullah II shared his own concerns about the current situation and the potential dangers posed by the ongoing conflict and instability. He reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to contribute to initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and security in the region.
The two leaders also discussed the importance of strengthening their diplomatic relationship and staying in touch about regional developments that impact security and stability.
In a related meeting earlier, Araghchi spoke with Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi to talk about cooperation on important issues and recent events in the region. Araghchi emphasized that neighboring countries need to collaborate to avoid further conflict and promote stability based on the interests of all regional nations.
Safadi expressed grave concerns about the worsening security situation, calling for an immediate end to the violence against innocent people in Palestine and Lebanon. He also stressed the importance of uniting regional and international efforts to support refugees from Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.
Additionally, Safadi made it clear that Jordan would not allow any party to violate its airspace, especially in light of threats from Israel regarding attacks on Iran after a recent missile retaliation. He stated, “Jordan will not be a battlefield for anyone” and would ensure the protection of its citizens' security.
Araghchi's visit to Jordan is part of his broader diplomatic efforts, which have included discussions in Syria, Lebanon, and Qatar in recent days.
