SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Army Commander said the country stands prepared to respond decisively to any attack, as senior commanders highlighted the Islamic Republic’s stabilizing role in regional security.

Iran Prepared to Deliver ‘Crushing Response’ to Any Threat, Army Chief Says

Major General Amir Hatami said on Saturday that Iran is fully prepared to deliver a decisive response to any threat against its national interests, emphasizing that the country’s defense posture is built on active deterrence.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the induction of the destroyer Sahand and the Kurdistan vessels into the Iranian Navy, Hatami said, “Our defensive strategy is based on active defense and smart deterrence.”

“This means we will not wait for the enemy to strike. We are fully prepared to respond decisively and forcefully whenever our national interests are at stake,” he added.

Hatami also praised the Navy’s sacrifices during the Iran–Iraq War and stressed that Iran’s military strength continues to be a stabilizing force both for the nation and the wider region. “Today, the security of the region and the security of individual countries are inseparable,” he noted.

He highlighted that nearly five decades of experience since the 1979 Revolution have proven Iran’s “constructive and irreplaceable role” in maintaining regional security. Hatami further remarked that developments over the past two years have clearly revealed “which countries are the disruptors of regional stability,” leaving “no doubt for any fair observer.”

The statement comes in the wake of escalating tensions. On June 13, Israel launched what Iran described as an unprovoked attack, targeting senior commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. A week later, the United States struck three Iranian nuclear facilities, actions widely condemned by Iran as violations of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Iran responded with strikes on strategic sites across occupied territories and at Qatar’s al-Udeid air base, the largest U.S. military facility in West Asia. On June 24, Tehran announced that its retaliatory operations had effectively halted the illegal assaults.

Senior Iranian military officials have warned that any further aggression will be met with an even stronger response. Chief of Staff Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said on Thursday that Iran’s strategic naval units are prepared to deliver a “firm and regret-inducing” response to any future acts of hostility.

Mousavi noted that Iran’s naval forces demonstrated full operational readiness during recent confrontations, particularly after the 12-day campaign by U.S. and Israeli forces in June, showing their capability to deliver a “decisive, effective, and regret-inducing” response to any violation or act of aggression.
