According to Saed News, citing Rokna, a young man who had repeatedly been rejected by his fiancée surprised her in a restaurant and behaved in an unusual and upsetting way during their courtship period.
The young woman, who was on her first outing with her fiancé, expected any kind of behavior except one that would lead to embarrassment and public humiliation.
The engagement period is generally a time when men try to please their future partner and usually spend money more freely. However, when someone has stinginess as a core trait, their behavior may become unusual and even problematic, as in this case.
A TikTok user shared a strange story about her short engagement with a persistent suitor who eventually convinced her to agree to get engaged temporarily so she could make a final decision.
The young woman, known as “Hedy Berber” on social media, said she accepted the engagement reluctantly to avoid any doubt before giving a final answer.
A few days after the engagement, they went to a well-known restaurant in the city. Everything seemed normal until they ordered food. The man suddenly said that each person should pay for their own meal so that emotional matters would not mix with financial issues.
She was shocked by this statement and decided right then to end the relationship after leaving the restaurant.
However, things got worse. She realized she had left her wallet and credit card at home. When she told him, he reacted even more strangely. He said he would eat his own food while she would sit and watch him, so they could still talk.
Feeling deeply upset, she stood up to leave the restaurant, but he threatened her, saying that if she left, he would loudly announce to everyone that she couldn’t afford her meal and was leaving because of that.
Feeling humiliated in front of other customers, she sat back down and watched him eat while everyone in the restaurant looked at her with surprise.
She later described him as a deeply troubling person who caused her a great deal of emotional distress in a very short time. After they left the restaurant, he told her that this experience was meant to “repay” the emotional pain she had caused him by repeatedly rejecting his marriage proposals.
He then ended the engagement on the spot and told her she was now free to continue her life without him.
