SAEDNEWS:Angabin vinegar—also called Sekangabin or honey Sekanjabin—has been enjoyed in Iran for centuries. This refreshing drink blends grape or apple vinegar with honey, unlike Sekanjabin syrup, which mixes sugar and vinegar.
One of the most popular and beneficial traditional drinks is Sekanjabin vinegar. Highly regarded among enthusiasts of traditional and herbal medicine, Sekanjabin is praised for its health benefits, including reducing blood fat, cleansing a fatty liver, and helping with asthma. In this article, we will guide you through how to prepare Sekanjabin vinegar at home.
1 cup mint distillate
½ cup vinegar
1 cup honey
Pour the mint distillate and vinegar into a small pot or saucepan and mix well. You can use apple cider vinegar or any vinegar you prefer, though homemade vinegar is best; industrial vinegars are not recommended.
Place the mixture on the stove and bring it to a gentle boil. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, remove the mixture from the heat and pour it into a clean bowl.
Allow the mixture to cool slightly until it becomes lukewarm, then add the honey and stir until fully blended.
Pour the vinegar into a glass jar and store it in the refrigerator.

1 cup chicory distillate
½ cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup honey
As before, pour the chicory distillate and apple cider vinegar into a small pot and heat until it boils. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Pour the mixture into a container and let it cool.
Once cooled, add honey and stir well.
This version, made with chicory distillate, is known for thinning the blood and supporting gallstone health.
You can make Sekanjabin with different herbal distillates based on your preference.
Adjust the amount of honey to taste.
Some recipes also include rock sugar or regular sugar as a sweetener.
