How to Make Caesar Salad

Step 1: Marinate chicken fillets with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and 1 grated garlic clove. Massage the fillets and let them absorb the flavors.

Step 2: Mix 1 garlic clove with olive oil in a small bowl. Cut the toast into medium squares and brush them with the oil mixture.

Step 3: Place the toast squares on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for 5–10 minutes until crispy. You can also toast bread using a microwave, toaster, or pan.

Step 4: Fry the marinated chicken over high heat. Ensure the heat is high to avoid the chicken drying out. Cut the cooked fillets into strips or cubes.

Step 5: (Optional) Use romaine lettuce for best results. If using regular lettuce, focus on the inner leaves. Chop the lettuce into medium pieces, rinse thoroughly, and drain.

Step 6: Place lettuce in a serving bowl and add toasted bread.

Step 7: Add the chopped chicken and cherry tomatoes. You can mix half the chicken with the lettuce and place the rest on top for presentation.

Step 8: Pour the Caesar dressing over the salad, sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese, and serve. Adjust the amount of cheese and balsamic vinegar to taste.

Tips for Caesar Salad

  • Thousand Island dressing can be used instead of Caesar dressing for a different flavor.

  • You can use garlic powder instead of fresh garlic.

  • Do not add cucumber or carrots; they alter the classic color of the salad.

  • Do not spread dressing on the bread before baking, as it softens the toast.

  • Chop romaine lettuce into large pieces.

  • Mix the salad gently by hand and add Parmesan cheese on top at the end.

  • Balsamic vinegar can also be drizzled separately according to taste.

  • Chicken can be prepared like fried chicken or grilled.

  • Feel free to add other ingredients based on personal preference.
