Iran’s Deputy Parliament Speaker: Fuel Prices in the U.S. Determine Whether the Strait of Hormuz Is Open or Closed

According to Saednews, An Iranian lawmaker said today that fuel price indicators in the United States, rather than statements or social media posts by American officials, determine whether the Strait of Hormuz remains open or closed.

In his pre-agenda remarks during an open session of the Iranian parliament, he criticized what he described as exaggerated claims by US President Donald Trump, saying they reflected Washington’s reluctance to acknowledge its setbacks.

He said that a country claiming superpower status would naturally seek to avoid admitting defeat after facing what he called the “iron will and steadfast faith” of the Iranian people. However, he stressed that developments on the battlefield, rather than political rhetoric, ultimately determine realities.

Referring to the US invasion of Iraq, the lawmaker said Washington had sought to turn Iraq into what he described as the “51st US state,” but was eventually forced to withdraw after suffering significant casualties.

He further argued that Trump’s threats against Iran were primarily aimed at domestic political objectives, including influencing US elections, and would have little practical impact on the ground.

The lawmaker added that the Islamic Republic of Iran was fully prepared to respond to any renewed US aggression, warning that any such response would be stronger, more devastating, and more severe.
