SAEDNEWS: The IRGC said it set fire to missile depots and fuel tanks at Jordan's Prince Hassan Air Base in a retaliatory operation on Monday. The claim has not been independently verified.
According to Saednews, The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has released a statement claiming that it carried out missile and drone strikes against Jordan's Prince Hassan Air Base, alleging that fuel depots and ammunition storage facilities used by US forces were successfully targeted.
According to the IRGC, the operation was described as a retaliatory response to what it called US aggression against Iranian coastal military bases. The group claimed the strikes caused fires in fuel storage and ammunition facilities, which it said affected US logistical and operational capabilities in the region.
The IRGC stated that the attack marked the first phase of Iran's response to recent US military actions, including alleged airstrikes on Iranian coastal installations and telecommunications infrastructure. It also linked the operation to recent tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that Iran's Navy had intercepted vessels it described as operating illegally.
In its statement, the IRGC said the strikes were conducted using ballistic missiles and drones, emphasizing what it described as Iran's defensive capabilities and determination to safeguard its national sovereignty.
The statement further claimed that Iranian military forces carried out coordinated drone strikes against additional US-linked military assets in Kuwait and Bahrain, including air defense systems, radar facilities, ammunition depots, and communications infrastructure.
The IRGC warned that any further hostile actions by the United States would result in stronger and broader military responses. It added that its retaliatory operations remain ongoing.
The statement also asserted that satellite imagery showed damage at Prince Hassan Air Base, although these claims have not been independently verified.
In the concluding section of its statement, the IRGC addressed the Iranian public, praised public support, condemned recent US actions, and reiterated that its military operations would continue. The statement included religious references and concluded with a Quranic verse expressing confidence in divine support.
