Watch | Cuba’s Message to the United States Amid Rising Tensions

According to SAEDNEWS, Raúl Castro, the former leader of Cuba, attended an official ceremony in Havana—an event that has drawn media attention amid rising tensions between Cuba and the United States and following new allegations by Washington against Cuban officials.

Raúl Castro took part yesterday in a ceremony held by Cuba’s Ministry of the Interior. This marks his first public appearance since attending International Workers’ Day on May 1. Political observers have interpreted his presence as a sign of Havana’s defiance in the face of increasing U.S. pressure.

The event comes as the U.S. government has once again raised allegations regarding the involvement of Cuban officials in the downing of aircraft belonging to the “Brothers to the Rescue” group in 1996, increasing its political pressure on Cuba.

Meanwhile, Miguel Díaz-Canel, Cuba’s president, warned against any aggressive action by the United States and stressed that any “aggression” or “military threat” would be met with a firm response from Cuba.
