SAEDNEWS: US President: We Are Doing Excellent Work in Iran and Have Stopped Using the Strait of Hormuz as a Threat Tool
According to the policy section of SaedNews, U.S. President Donald Trump made sharp remarks early today, accusing Iran of attempting to “tear apart Israel and Middle Eastern countries.”
While the United States is the only country to have used nuclear weapons in war, Trump said Washington will never allow “madmen” to obtain nuclear arms.
The U.S. president emphasized that the purpose of attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities was to prevent regional collapse.
He claimed that if these strikes had not taken place, Iran could have destroyed Israel and other countries in the region.
Trump also repeated earlier claims about the destruction of Iran’s naval forces, saying that 159 Iranian warships are “now at the bottom of the sea.”
He further stated that the United States does not intend to close the Iran file “ahead of schedule,” arguing that doing so would force America to intervene again later.
He pledged to act to eliminate any weapon capable of global destruction, including nuclear weapons.
Trump: Saying We Did Not Win the War Against Iran Is Treason
In another speech in Florida, Trump told supporters that those who claim the United States has not won the war against Iran are committing “treason.”
He said: “The radical left comes and says, ‘We are not winning; we are not winning.’”
Trump claimed: “They (Iranians) no longer have any military power. It’s unbelievable. I believe this is treason. Honestly, it is treason.”
He also described a January military operation in Venezuela as “one of the greatest military operations in history,” and said he does not want to speak prematurely about victory in Iran.
Trump added: “Things in Iran are also going almost as well. But until everything is finished, I don’t like talking about it,” without directly comparing the two conflicts.
Trump Claims Iran’s Military Power Has Been Destroyed
Trump also stated that Iran once had the strongest naval force in the region, but claimed it has been destroyed.
He said: “Iran’s air force is completely out of service, its navy—once the most powerful in the region—has been completely destroyed, and 159 Iranian ships are at the bottom of the sea.”
He further claimed that the United States has blocked Iran’s use of the Strait of Hormuz, which he said had long been used as a “weapon” by Iran.
He reiterated that Iran must not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons, arguing such weapons could be used against Israel, Europe, and even the United States.
Trump said: “We are doing an extraordinary job in Iran and we have stopped the use of the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of threat. Iran used to use the Strait of Hormuz as a weapon for years. They would close it, and I, in turn, closed it on them.”
These claims, which Trump frequently repeats in public statements, are in stark contrast to remarks he made earlier in a letter to Congress acknowledging remaining Iranian military capabilities.
