SAEDNEWS: If you feel upset about missing the Fajr prayer and are looking for a dua to help you wake up for Fajr, follow this article to the end.
According to Saednews, Fajr is one of the five daily prayers in Islam. Because of its great importance and immense rewards, it is a treasure that every Muslim should strive to preserve. It is a blessed and significant prayer. Among Allah Almighty’s favors upon His servants is the special distinction granted to those who perform Fajr, bringing light to their faces and setting them apart from others, along with the glad tidings of Paradise and salvation from the Fire.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
“Whoever prays before sunrise and before sunset will not enter Hell.”
Muslims should perform Fajr on time to receive its blessings and spiritual benefits. This can be achieved by placing one’s trust in Allah and asking Him to help them wake up in time for prayer.
Regarding the importance of waking up for worship, Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed:
English translation:
“My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.” (Quran 14:40)
Regarding a recommended supplication for waking up to perform Fajr, Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) is reported to have said that whoever recites the final verse of Surah Al-Kahf before sleeping will wake up at whatever time they wish.

Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) is reported to have taught that anyone wishing to wake up at a specific hour during the night should recite the following supplication before going to sleep:
English translation:
“O Allah, do not let me forget Your remembrance, do not make me feel secure from Your plan, and do not make me among the heedless. Awaken me during the hours most beloved to You, so that I may call upon You and You answer me, ask You and You grant me, and seek Your forgiveness and You forgive me. Indeed, none forgives sins except You, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy.”
According to the narration cited in the original text, Allah appoints two angels to awaken the believer who recites this supplication. If the person does not wake up, the angels seek forgiveness for them. If they pass away that night, they are granted the reward of a martyr for reciting the supplication. The narration also states that Allah answers their needs.
A narration attributed to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), from Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (AS), recommends that anyone wishing to wake up at a particular hour during the night recite the following before going to bed:
English translation:
“O Allah, do not make me feel secure from Your plan, do not let me forget Your remembrance, and do not make me among the heedless. Let me wake up at such-and-such an hour.”
When reciting the supplication, replace “such-and-such an hour” with the specific time at which you wish to wake up.

Another practice recommended in the original text is to recite verses 54, 55, and 56 of Surah Al-A'raf before sleeping, with sincere intention and focused attention, seeking Allah’s help in waking up at the desired time.
Surah Al-A'raf, 7:54–56
Verse 54
Translation:
“Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
Verse 55
Translation:
“Call upon your Lord humbly and privately. Indeed, He does not like transgressors.”
Verse 56
Translation:
“And do not cause corruption on the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.”
Waking up for Fajr is an important act of worship that requires sincerity, discipline, and reliance upon Allah. Reciting Quranic verses and supplications before sleeping can be part of a believer’s spiritual routine while seeking Allah’s assistance.
Alongside supplication, it is beneficial to sleep early, set an alarm, and make a sincere intention to rise for prayer.
May Allah help us all wake up for Fajr on time, remain steadfast in our prayers, and receive His mercy and blessings. Ameen.
