Saed News: The United Nations has announced that nearly one quarter of Lebanon’s population is facing severe food shortages.
According to SAEDNEWS, the World Food Programme (WFP) of the United Nations reported that the latest food security assessment shows that between April and August 2026, about 1.24 million people—roughly one in every four Lebanese citizens—are experiencing acute food insecurity.
The World Food Programme emphasized that large-scale population displacement, rising food and fuel prices, disruptions in market activity, and widespread economic problems have intensified the current crisis.
