Imagine how unbearable it must be to endure a foul smell inside an airplane cabin, where the air pressure is controlled and the space is fully enclosed. The thought of being stuck for several hours in a closed cabin with many passengers while dealing with a strong unpleasant odor can easily make anyone feel sick.

According to Daily Mail, the presence of a badly smelling passenger on Transavia flight HV5666, which was traveling from Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands to the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, forced the aircraft to make an emergency landing. The smell was so intense and disgusting that many passengers began to complain.

Many passengers reportedly became ill due to the presence of this foul-smelling individual. One of them, a Belgian man named Piet van Haut, described the passenger as smelling so bad that it seemed as if he had never taken a shower in his life.

Other passengers on the flight also suffered from severe nausea and dizziness because of the odor. The complaints became so widespread that the cabin crew informed the pilot. Eventually, due to the extreme situation, the aircraft made an emergency landing.

When the flight finally landed at Faro Airport in Portugal, the problematic passenger was escorted off the plane by airport medical staff using a separate vehicle. Medical teams then attended to the condition of the other passengers.

A spokesperson for Transavia stated that the emergency landing was due to medical issues affecting several passengers, but did not officially confirm that the odor of one passenger was the direct cause of the diversion.
