Saed News: A defendant who had unintentionally killed his lover in a horrifying incident was tried in the Tehran Province Criminal Court.
According to SAEDNEWS, Mohammad Nazi / Some time ago, one of the relatives of a young Afghan woman went to the police department and, while speaking to officers, said: One of my acquaintances who lived with her young child has disappeared, and we have no news about either of them. Please help.
After the complaint was registered and a case was formed in the relevant prosecutor’s office, a team from the criminal investigation police entered the case and, in the first step, made inquiries with the forensic medicine organization and the welfare organization. During the initial stages of the investigation, it was discovered that the missing woman’s child was in the custody of the welfare organization.
In the next step, after the identity of the missing woman’s child was confirmed, officers realized that several months earlier, a frightened young man had taken the child to a police station and claimed that he had found the child on the street.
In this branch of the investigation, the criminal team, through technical and telecommunications measures, discovered that the missing woman secretly had a relationship with an Afghan man, and this person was the same individual who had handed over the child to the police.
With this important information, detectives used modern crime detection methods to identify the hideout of the Afghan man and, after coordination with judicial authorities, arrested him in a surprise operation.
The suspect, who initially denied any connection with the missing woman during interrogations, eventually confessed to committing a horrifying crime after being confronted with evidence and documents in the case and stated that he had unintentionally killed the young woman.
After the completion of investigations, discovery of the body in the deserts south of Tehran Province, reconstruction of the crime scene, and issuance of an indictment order by the criminal investigator, an indictment was issued by the prosecutor’s office against the suspect on charges of direct involvement in intentional murder so that he could be tried in Tehran Province Criminal Court One.
Accordingly, the defendant was tried in Branch Two of Tehran Province Criminal Court One. At the beginning of the hearing, the indictment issued by the prosecutor’s office was read.
Then the defendant stood before the court and said in his defense: I am married, and the victim was my compatriot and my lover. My wife found out, and our life fell apart. I promised myself to end this matter and return to my married life, but my wife was never satisfied. That is why I foolishly designed a strange plan in my mind.
The defendant continued: I discussed the matter with the victim, and we agreed that our emotional relationship should end forever. I willingly took her and her child to one of the warehouses around Tehran. There, I put a rope around her neck and placed a stool under her feet. We wanted to stage the scene so that my wife would think she had committed suicide and was no longer in my life.
The young man further explained: I pulled the stool from under her feet to take photos and videos for my wife, but suddenly I realized that she had actually died. I was very frightened. First, I handed over her child to the police as a lost child, then I took the body to the deserts and abandoned it there. I regret it and apologize to the victim’s family. I had no intention of committing murder.
After the defendant’s confessions ended, the judges of Tehran Province Criminal Court One announced the end of the session and entered deliberations to issue a verdict.
The victim’s family also, during the legal process of the case, forgave the death penalty after 6 years, and the defendant was retried regarding the public aspect of the crime and sentenced to 9 years in prison.
