Saed News: Let’s treat nature and its unparalleled beauty with a bit more awareness and respect. Join us as we share a beautiful yet heartbreaking video from the plain of inverted tulips (Fritillaria).
According to Saed News Society Desk Environmental experts are sounding the alarm: Inverted tulips (Fritillaria imperialis), with their short lifespan and extreme sensitivity, only reproduce through their bulbs. Picking them—especially with the bulb—leads to the complete extinction of this precious species.
With the arrival of spring and the month of Ordibehesht (April-May), we are once again witnessing illegal harvesting of these unique flowers across Iran’s plains.
🌸 According to nature lovers, every year some tourists enter protected plains of inverted tulips and pull the flowers from the ground—bulb and all. This reckless act destroys the plant entirely and prevents it from ever blooming again.
One nature enthusiast trying to stop this destruction was threatened by a tourist, who recorded a video of him and threatened to share it online. This incident highlights the lack of awareness about the legal consequences of such actions.
💡 Key Warnings from Environmental Experts:
Inverted tulips are delicate and short-lived.
They can’t be propagated by seeds—only by bulbs.
Picking them with the bulb = extinction risk.
These flowers do NOT survive in homes—don’t be fooled!
Damaging the tulips means damaging the entire ecosystem.
📍 Main habitats in Iran:
Aligudarz
Kouhrang
Khansar
Neyriz
🚨 These areas become increasingly vulnerable during spring travel season. While efforts like protective fencing have helped somewhat, many tourists still show little regard for conservation laws.
📷🌸 Environmental activists recommend: 👉 Instead of picking the flowers, take beautiful photos and create lasting memories
so that future generations can also enjoy the stunning sight of these rare blooms.
