SAEDNEWS: With its temperate climate and unique nature, Zomorrod waterfall in Gilan province northern Iran, has the potential to become a top tourist attraction.
Just 45 km north of Talesh and a short 9 km from Hawiq Bazaar in Gilan province, Zomorrod Waterfall is a mesmerizing natural gem that draws tourists and climbers from across Iran throughout the year.
Its name, Zomorrod, means “emerald” in Persian—and the waterfall lives up to that name, sparkling like a precious jewel amid the lush forests of Hawiq. Visitors are enchanted not only by its stunning beauty but also by the calming, serene atmosphere that surrounds it.
The area is home to two nearby falls, often called the Twin Falls. The larger cascade plunges approximately 15 meters, while the smaller one is tiered, featuring two steps of 4 and 8 meters. Both waterfalls create a captivating scene, perfect for nature lovers and photographers alike.
To reach Zomorrod Waterfall, travelers start from Hawiq town and head toward Zomorrod village. The path descends gently, and within 10–15 minutes on foot, you arrive at this emerald paradise, ready to immerse yourself in the serene charm of one of Gilan’s most spectacular natural wonders.
