Megamall is Tehran’s first "mega-mall" built according to international standards, and given its amenities and easy access, it arguably sits a cut above other shopping centers in the capital. The complex offers a food court, indoor amusement park, banquet hall, covered parking, Wi‑Fi, prayer room, glass elevators, restrooms, a hypermarket, green spaces, a cinema complex and more.

The complex is a grand five‑storey building with eye-catching architecture and hosts numerous high-quality branded stores. Its three-level parking garage is another advantage in Tehran’s busy traffic, easing visitors’ parking concerns. Join Kajaro for a tour of Tehran’s Megamall.

Introduction to Megamall

Megamall commercial complex was constructed on a land area of 19 hectares with 200,000 square meters of commercial floor space in Ekbatan Town. Two hundred retail units operate across its five floors. In practice, about 15 percent of the complex is dedicated to retail, while 85 percent is allocated to public, sports, entertainment and cultural spaces.

The building is one of Tehran’s unique structures, built with premium construction materials and modern design. It is engineered to withstand a magnitude-9 earthquake, making it a secure place for commerce and shopping.

Where is Megamall?

Megamall is one of Tehran’s notable attractions located in Phase Two of Ekbatan Town in the west of the city. It ranks among the country’s largest and most distinguished shopping centers.

MegaMall

One of Megamall’s advantages is its easy access to Tehran’s main highways: Tehran‑Karaj and Shahid Sattari are nearby. Routes from Niayesh, Hemmat and Hakim highways also lead conveniently to the mall. Additionally, the complex is near a metro station — Metro Line 4 (Kolahdooz–Eram Sabz) provides direct access to the ground‑floor entrance.

Megamall Ekbatan is open daily from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Since it is open every day, you can visit at virtually any time to enjoy its services and facilities.

Megamall Parking

Megamall’s multi‑storey parking covers approximately 36,000 square meters and includes three levels with a capacity for 2,800 cars. Elevators from the parking area provide direct access to the rest of the complex. While the parking was previously free, it now charges an entrance fee with an hourly rate added for time used.

Facilities at Megamall

Megamall is more than a shopping center — its wide range of welfare and leisure facilities increase its appeal among Tehran residents. The mall houses branches of major banks (Mellat and Shahr) on the ground floor to facilitate financial transactions for shoppers. Parent‑and‑child carts are available to make shopping easier and more enjoyable for families with young children.

Other amenities include a food court, cafés, ATMs, an indoor amusement park, a cinema complex, sports halls, a hypermarket and more — all of which are explained below.

Ladies' World

A distinctive feature of Megamall is a women‑only section on the first floor, which includes cosmetic and clothing stores, beauty salons, fashion outlets, and a modern gym — areas where men are not permitted. The section also provides an hourly childcare service, allowing women to enjoy their time without worry.

Megamall HyperMe (Hypermarket)

The hypermarket occupies about 11,000 square meters and represents one of the mall’s largest units, selling a wide array of household goods. The hypermarket spans two levels (Ground 1 and Ground 2) and is served by six large passenger elevators, two dedicated freight elevators, and four escalators to ease customer movement.

Multiple entrances from different floors connect directly to the hypermarket, and one of its key features is access to the metro corridor.

IT Land

IT Land — the technology zone — covers roughly 3,500 square meters on the fourth floor and offers accessories and electrical goods. Prominent IT and electronics brands such as Panasonic, Sony, Farassoo, Madiran and Logitech operate here, providing specialized services and a range of products.

Megamall Amusement Park

The indoor amusement park occupies about 6,000 square meters adjacent to the cinema complex on the third floor and is a major attraction for children and teenagers. It features modern mechanical and electronic rides and a large terrace overlooking the northern mountains of the capital. With the arcade, cultural stores, and cinema nearby, the third floor is a lively hub for families.

On the first floor a "Sand Land" play area is available for children aged three to nine, where they can play with sand and engage with sensory activities to stimulate creativity and imagination.

Sports & Wellness Facilities

Megamall’s sports facilities are diverse and modern: fully equipped gyms, physiotherapy halls staffed by experienced Iranian specialists, massage and relaxation rooms, and sauna and jacuzzi facilities — all designed to enhance visitor comfort.

Megamall Cinema Complex

Megamall’s cinema complex includes seven screens with a total capacity of 1,200 seats. It supports independent screenings in individual auditoriums and simultaneous showings across halls. Opened in Ordibehesht 1396 (May 2017), it is considered one of the country’s most modern cinema complexes and features the first 3D-sound auditorium in Iran. The halls are equipped with advanced lighting and sound systems and offer family boxes.

Cultural and artistic activities also take place in conference halls, music rooms, 'Shahr-e-Ketab' bookstore, cultural shops and art classes hosted in the complex.

Food Court

Megamall’s food court — among Tehran’s best — occupies approximately 2,400 square meters on the second floor. In addition to the food court, international restaurants are located on the third floor near the amusement park and cinema, and several cafeteria‑style eateries are on Ground 2 near Megapark.
