A must for thrill-seekers in Tehran: Eram Park mixes big green spaces, dozens of rides and family attractions to create unforgettable days out.
Eram Park Tehran was built in 1971 (1350 Iranian calendar) by investor Rahim Ali Khorram and covers more than 72 hectares. After Mellat Park and Koohsangi Park, Eram is one of Iran’s largest recreational parks: a nine-hectare lake, indoor and outdoor amusement areas, Tehran’s largest zoo and over 20 hectares of green space are among its highlights. The park suits every age and taste and offers both calm nature and high-adrenaline rides.
Eram Park is at kilometer 4 of the Tehran–Karaj Freeway (after Shahid Setari), on the right-hand slip near the Shahid Bakri overpass. Nearby cities and neighborhoods include parts of west Tehran and the Karaj corridor.
From central Tehran: under 6 km — about 10 minutes by car.
From Karaj: ~45 km — about 40 minutes drive.
From Qom: ~150 km — roughly 2 hours by car.
By car: Follow the Tehran–Karaj Freeway to km 4, stay in the slow lane toward the Shahid Bakri exit and follow signs for the park entrance.
By bus: Buses from Azadi Square toward Karaj stop at a station that serves Eram Park; lines run into the evening.
By metro: Use the Eram Sabz (Green Eram) metro station; a short walk brings you to the park entrance.
Hours differ by section: the zoo typically opens 10:00–18:30; the indoor amusement complex (Joy/Enchanted Castle) 10:00–22:00; outdoor rides usually operate late afternoon to evening. Hours may change on holidays — check official sources before visiting.
Eram uses a rechargeable “Eram Card” for rides and services. Initial top-up is required at purchase; cards are sold on site. Ride prices vary; the card retains balance for future visits.
A five-hectare zoo on the park’s south side with 130+ species, including endangered animals; the facility focuses on animal care and conservation.
Family- and child-oriented rides, snack stands and green spaces. Examples: children’s rally, mini roller coaster, bumper cars, ball pool, 4D cinema.
The main thrill zone with larger rides and attractions for older kids and adults: free fall, coasters, 4D cinema, monorail, Ferris wheel, etc.
