SAEDNEWS: According to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, a group of hunters recently captured the largest alligator in Mississippi history.
According to Saed News, a group of hunters from Forest City, USA, has captured the largest alligator in Mississippi’s history. The massive reptile weighs 364 kilograms (802 pounds) and measures 3.4 meters (11.2 feet) long. Its girth around the belly and tail are 167.64 cm (5.5 feet) and 118.11 cm (3.9 feet), respectively. After the hunt, the Forest City hunters used a forklift to lift the alligator and posed for photos with it.
Alligator hunting season is currently underway. Since 2005, hunters have been able to obtain permits to hunt alligators in both public and private waters. Many consider alligator hunting a form of sport.

The Mississippi River is home to a large population of alligators. In 2021 alone, 776 alligators were captured from the river, with an average length of about 2.5 meters (8.2 feet)—significantly smaller than this latest record-breaking catch. Captured alligators are handed over to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
