SAEDNEWS: Deep in the northern forests, there’s a cabin that, according to local legend, no one ever leaves alive.
According to the Social Affairs Desk of Saed News, citing Hamshahri Online, the Haunted Cabin lies 35 kilometers west of Somehsara, along the road from Poonel to Khalkhal, and dates back over 200 years. Many rumors have circulated about this cabin, the most famous of which dates to 1986, when four adventurous young men decided to spend a night there. Locals tried to dissuade them, but they were determined to stay and put an end to the rumors once and for all.
It is said that during the night, two of the four fled the cabin for unknown reasons, but the fate of the remaining two was far grimmer: one died of a heart attack that same night, and the other descended into madness. Following this incident, the Anzali cabin was reportedly sealed for months, and no one dared to visit the eerie place again.

Extraterrestrial Legends
One reason for the cabin’s fame comes from an old legend passed down among locals: anyone who could survive a single night in the cabin would become wealthy beyond imagination. This belief led many to think that spending a night there, possibly aided by supernatural or extraterrestrial forces, could bring them legendary fortune.
Who Was the “Queen of the Forest”?
While rumors about the Haunted Cabin of Anzali are widespread, there is no documented evidence to confirm that these stories actually happened. Historically, the abandoned cabin was once the residence of Ezzat-ol-Molouk Sasan, a prominent leader of the Talesh tribe and a wealthy, respected figure among the people of Gilan. Locals reportedly called her the “Queen of the Forest.” She was highly skilled in horseback riding and archery. Ezzat-ol-Molouk lived in the cabin, which was then a beautiful mansion, from the year 315 until several decades later. Today, the building is a decayed, eerie structure, but its historical significance has earned it a place on Iran’s national heritage list.
