SAEDNEWS: Battle of the Camels: World Cup Camel Wrestling in Aydın, Turkey
According to Saed News, quoting from Fararu, a competition known as the Camel Wrestling World Cup was held in the Aydın region of Turkey. In the Camel Wrestling World Cup Festival, 184 camels competed. Despite the cold weather, this festival, which is the largest camel wrestling competition in the region, attracted around 20,000 people. Camel wrestling competitions in Turkey are one of the important cultural events of the Aegean region, organized by the Aydın Metropolitan Municipality.
The competitions continued from morning until evening, and Özlem Çerçioğlu, the mayor of Aydın, also came to the venue to watch the event. In her speech, she said: “We continue to keep our culture alive. This year, we held the second World Cup. As you can see, there is an impressive crowd—it’s like an exhibition. After all, that was our goal. Everyone came with their children and families.”
