SAEDNEWS: Some Foods You Should Never Store in the Refrigerator

5 Fruits You Should Never Store in the Refrigerator

According to Saed News, citing the Egyptian newspaper Al-Akhbar, there are five fruits that should not be kept in the fridge:

Bananas
Bananas should never be refrigerated. Cold temperatures cause their skins to turn black, which can make them unappealing—especially for children. In addition, refrigeration slows the ripening process. It’s best to store bananas at room temperature.

Watermelon
Many people mistakenly refrigerate watermelon to prevent it from spoiling quickly. However, this reduces its antioxidant content and nutritional value. Experts recommend keeping watermelon out of the fridge.

Pineapple
Storing pineapple in the refrigerator can negatively affect its texture and flavor. Cooling the fruit can alter its natural form and freshness. However, if the pineapple is fully ripe, it can be stored in the fridge for a few days to prevent it from becoming too soft.

Mango
Mangoes should not be refrigerated, as cold temperatures slow down the ripening process and affect both taste and texture. Keeping mangoes at room temperature ensures they remain juicy and flavorful.

Avocado
Avocados should not be stored in the fridge because cold temperatures can slow ripening and make them firmer. Refrigeration can also affect their flavor and creamy texture.
