Saed News: Join us as we take a look at a rare, unseen photo from Qajar-era Iran.
According to the History Desk of Saed News, “Khanom Hajeb,” titled “Nayyir-e Azmi,” was the daughter of Fasl-e Bahar Khanom (Iran al-Dowleh) and Mostafa Gholi Khan Qajar Dowlu (Hajeb al-Dowleh), and a descendant of Farhad Mirza Mo'tamed al-Dowleh and Fath-Ali Shah Qajar. Khanom Hajeb was born in 1898 (1277 SH) and later married Mohammad Ebrahim Amir Teymour (Sardar Nosrat), with whom she had seven children. She passed away in 1982 (1361 SH).
The photo shown above was taken around 1921 (1300 SH) at a studio in Paris. In this portrait, Khanom Hajeb is dressed in attire and a crown resembling those of aristocratic women of ancient Rome, striking a pose for the camera.
