According to the History Service of Saed News, this painting depicts the procession of Alexander II of Russia and Nasser al-Din Shah during his first trip to Europe in 1873, and it is the work of Mihály Zichy. Mihály Zichy was a painter, graphic artist, and one of the prominent figures of Romantic painting in Hungary. Nasser al-Din Shah's first trip began on April 19, 1873 (30 Farvardin 1252 in the Persian calendar), marking the first time a Persian king traveled to Europe. Before him, none of the Persian monarchs had set foot in a Christian country. Nasser al-Din Shah was 43 years old at the time, and 25 years had passed since he began his reign over Iran. This trip was arranged on the advice of the Prime Minister, Mirza Hossein Khan Sepahsalar.
