SAEDNEWS: Concerns Raised by a U.S. Senator Over the Potential Inability of Israeli Defense Systems to Counter Iran’s Ballistic Missiles

The End of the Iron Dome Myth: A U.S. Senator’s Bitter Admission of Iran’s Missile Power

According to the political desk of the Saed News Agency, Lindsey Graham, a senior U.S. senator who has traveled several times this year to the occupied Palestinian territories, described Iran’s missile program as a “real threat” to Israel. Graham, known as a staunch supporter of the Israeli regime and one of the top recipients of financial contributions linked to it, has repeatedly called in the U.S. Senate for increased funding to rebuild the Iron Dome air defense system.

In an interview with The Jerusalem Post on Sunday, Graham warned about the advancement of Iran’s missile capabilities, stating that Iran’s ballistic missiles are capable of saturating and disabling the Iron Dome system. According to the senator, following the 12-day war with Israel, Iran has launched new efforts to rebuild its ballistic missile arsenal.

Graham believes that Iran’s ballistic missiles are now as threatening to Israel as the country’s nuclear program. He said that Hamas, Iran, and Lebanon’s Hezbollah are rebuilding their capabilities and producing more weapons, and that despite the blows they have suffered, their resurgence in the missile domain represents a real threat to Israel.

He emphasized that Iran should not be allowed to produce ballistic missiles, arguing that such missiles could overwhelm the Iron Dome’s defensive system and render it ineffective. Concerns among U.S. and Israeli officials about Iran’s missile capabilities have intensified since the 12-day war. In this context, Al Jazeera reported that Iran’s missile responses during those clashes—including the daily launch of dozens of projectiles and more than 500 ballistic missiles in total—have altered Israel’s assessments.
