Iran’s Parliament Speaker Urges Muslim Leaders to Confront “Israeli Genocide” in Gaza

According to Saed News, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf issued a forceful appeal to leaders of Islamic countries to act decisively against the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. Posting in Arabic on his official X account on Sunday, Qalibaf warned that the people of Gaza are enduring the “largest genocide in modern history,” accusing the Zionist regime of seeking to eliminate Gaza’s entire population through starvation.

In his message, Qalibaf condemned Israel as a “criminal apartheid entity” and asserted that the blockade — depriving Gaza of food, water, and medical supplies — amounts to an attempt to “wipe out” civilians. He insisted that Muslim rulers have a moral and religious duty to break the siege immediately.

“The people of Gaza are facing the largest genocide in modern history,” Qalibaf wrote, urging Islamic states to abandon passivity and confront the ongoing tragedy. He stressed that silence and indifference are no longer acceptable, calling on his peers to “rise up” and fulfill their responsibility to the Palestinian people.

Qalibaf’s statements come amid mounting international alarm over famine conditions in Gaza. Aid organizations have repeatedly warned that children and other vulnerable groups are on the brink of starvation due to the total blockade. Iran has publicly criticized Western governments and certain Muslim states for what it terms complicity in Israel’s actions by failing to intervene.

By framing the crisis as a genocide and apartheid, Qalibaf’s message seeks to galvanize Islamic leaders into coordinated political and humanitarian measures. His call to break the Israeli-imposed siege underscores Iran’s broader campaign to rally support against the blockade and highlight the severity of Gaza’s humanitarian plight.
