War not our choice, but surrender not an option: Pezeshkian to Iranian diaspora

According to Saed News, President Masoud Pezeshkian appealed directly to Iranians abroad on July 14, emphasizing that although Tehran remains committed to peaceful negotiation, it will never bow to external coercion. In a statement released Monday, he described the June assault by Israel—launched amid ongoing nuclear talks—as “a betrayal of our constructive diplomatic efforts.”

Pezeshkian underscored that Iran had been preparing for a sixth round of negotiations to showcase the “peaceful nature of our nuclear programs,” even as mutual distrust with the United States persisted. “The Zionist regime attacked us while we were pursuing dialogue,” he said, lamenting the loss of senior commanders, nuclear scientists, and innocent civilians, including women and children.

Framing Iran’s response as “lawful self‑defense under international law,” the president praised the armed forces for their rapid reorganization and precision strikes guided by the Supreme Leader. He highlighted the unity shown by Iranians at home and abroad—supporters and critics alike—calling it “one of the most remarkable moments in our modern history.”

Looking forward, Pezeshkian announced that Iran is entering “a new phase of rebuilding, innovation, and hope,” stressing that national security rests not only on military strength but on social cohesion and public trust. He paid tribute to the recent martyrs and issued a stark warning: “If another act of aggression is attempted, our response will be even more crushing.”
