According to Saed News, President Masoud Pezeshkian has addressed public conjecture and media speculation surrounding his recent visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, stating that both his arrival and return were “without issue, marked by calm and security.” His remarks followed his participation in the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), held in Baku.

Upon arrival in the Azerbaijani capital, Pezeshkian engaged in what he described as a “very constructive” bilateral meeting with Pakistan’s Prime Minister. Discussions focused on strengthening previous agreements and intensifying diplomatic and economic cooperation. “They were actively pursuing internal coordination and support for bilateral relations,” Pezeshkian noted.

He also met with Tajikistan’s President, who, speaking fluent Persian, emphasized the expansion of ties in economics, science, technical collaboration, and transportation. Pezeshkian characterized the encounter as a continuation of prior cooperative efforts between Tehran and Dushanbe.

During the main ECO summit, Pezeshkian reported a unified and forceful condemnation of Israeli actions in the region by all member states. In his bilateral with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the conversation reportedly spanned economic matters and joint opposition to Israeli military actions. “President Erdoğan explicitly condemned the Zionist regime’s aggression,” Pezeshkian said, adding that future diplomatic coordination was discussed.

His meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took place in what he described as a “positive and friendly” environment, yielding substantial outcomes in regional and economic cooperation.

Pezeshkian concluded by urging Iranian officials beyond the presidential office to pursue deeper ties with Muslim countries. He called for active engagement across scientific, cultural, and infrastructural sectors, urging ministries and deputy ministers to implement the agreements reached. He offered thanks to all personnel who supported the trip and acknowledged the role of the media in covering the mission.
