Saed News: Donald Trump, the President of the United States, warned on Tuesday local time that Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, is "playing with fire" as Moscow continues its attacks on Ukraine.
Saed News reports: Donald Trump, President of the United States, wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that Putin does not realize that “if it weren’t for me, very bad things would have happened to Russia, and I really mean very bad.”
Trump emphasized: “What Vladimir Putin does not understand is that if I were not here, very bad things would have happened to Russia, and I really mean very bad. He is playing with fire!”
This warning came after Trump’s criticism on Sunday following three consecutive nights of Russian airstrikes on Ukraine, when he said Putin has “completely lost it.”
Trump expressed confusion about Putin’s behavior. He said, “I have always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him.”
Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesperson, called these remarks an overemotional reaction and downplayed Trump’s criticism.
Earlier, Kate Kloog, U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine, announced that peace talks between Russia and Ukraine may be held in Geneva.
The U.S. special envoy for Ukraine said in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday local time that such a meeting would be possible once Russia submits its peace agreement proposal, adding that Ukraine has already done so.
Kloog added, “When we receive their agreement or memorandum, we will arrange it and another session will be held, and we believe this session will probably be in Geneva. We wanted the meeting to be in the Vatican, but the Russians did not want to go there, so in the end, we have to go where we can bring them all together.”
Kloog emphasized, “We have to go somewhere to bring together all three main leaders (the presidents of the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine). We will bring Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, together, discuss this matter, and come to a kind of signed document that ends this war.”
