Domestic Newspaper Makes Shocking Suggestion to President: Expel All Afghans to Solve Water Crisis

According to the political news service of Saed News, last week, President Pezeshkian, during the review of the fourteenth government’s performance in the first year of the seventh development plan, stated: “I will kiss the hand of anyone who can solve the country’s problems, regardless of their political affiliation.”

The Jomhouri-e Eslami newspaper wrote that, given the sincerity known in President Pezeshkian, it is natural to expect him to invite and utilize the expertise of numerous individuals, both inside and outside the country, who have expressed willingness to help solve pressing issues such as the water shortage.

Reducing the number of foreign nationals to internationally standard, reasonable, and logical levels could significantly contribute to lowering the country’s water consumption. According to available data, over 12% of the population consists of illegal foreign residents living in various regions of Iran. Their deportation would naturally contribute to more than a 12% reduction in water consumption. Unfortunately, the necessary political will among officials to deport illegal residents is lacking, and warnings from concerned experts in this regard have so far yielded no results.

When President Pezeshkian says he will honor those capable of solving the country’s problems, he should act to implement the warnings of experts and concerned citizens, including those highlighting issues related to illegal foreign residents. It is widely known that a dangerous faction in the country is attempting to prevent the deportation of illegal residents and even reopen the path for mass entry into Iran. Courageous action against this faction could greatly assist the government in economic, social, and security matters, including water conservation. Any delay or inaction on this matter by the government is unacceptable.
