Addressing an open session of Parliament on Sunday, Qalibaf presented a report on his recent three-day visit to Pakistan, outlining key discussions and agreements reached during the trip.

He emphasized that Iran and Pakistan’s trade needs are complementary, their cultural ties are deeply rooted, and there are significant opportunities to enhance security and defense cooperation.

Qalibaf noted that the talks focused on implementing cooperation agreements signed during the Iranian president’s recent visit, increasing bilateral trade volume to $10 billion, facilitating barter trade through infrastructure development, completing the free trade process, expanding border collaboration, developing joint marketplaces, strengthening border security, and planning trilateral cooperation among Iran, China, and Pakistan on joint projects.

He expressed hope that both governments’ implementation of these initiatives would soon produce tangible results.

Concluding his report, Qalibaf extended special gratitude to the people of Pakistan for their warm and enthusiastic reception of the Iranian delegation, particularly in Islamabad and Karachi. He highlighted attending Friday prayers in Karachi as one of the most memorable moments of the visit, noting that worshippers greeted the Iranian representatives with passionate support for Iran and Palestine—a reflection of the deep brotherhood between the two nations.
