Pezeshkian: No Issue in Governance Is More Vital Than People's Livelihoods!

According to the Political Desk of Saed News, Masoud Pezeshkian, in a cabinet meeting held on Sunday afternoon, October 18, 2025, stressed the importance of the public’s livelihood, calling it the foremost priority above all ongoing projects and plans in the country. He stated, “For me as president, no issue in governance is more vital or important than the livelihood of the people. If the people’s concerns are truly our concerns, we must act sensitively, consciously, and responsibly in every moment and decision regarding this matter.”

The president further criticized the drafting of certain inflation-inducing laws and regulations, asking, “Why should a law or regulation be enacted that harms the livelihood of the people, particularly low-income groups and the lower strata of society? Any measure that puts economic pressure on people’s lives contradicts the principles of justice and prudence and must be promptly corrected.”

Pezeshkian also emphasized that in the allocation and provision of the country’s financial resources, nothing should take precedence over the livelihood of the people. He added, “All governmental decisions, policies, and actions in every sector must be guided by and subordinate to efforts aimed at improving public welfare and quality of life.”

During the meeting, cabinet members raised issues and challenges facing executive agencies. The Minister of Communications and Information Technology provided a report on the status of the “Digital Government Ecosystem,” outlining the process of reforming, completing, and updating existing systems and aligning them with the latest global advances in digital transformation.

Additionally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented a report on the latest diplomatic measures to counter sanctions and on trilateral cooperation between Iran, China, and Russia to undermine unilateral European actions related to the so-called “snapback” mechanism.

Iraqchi, referencing recent statements by the 121-member Non-Aligned Movement in support of Iran, said, “We are witnessing the formation of a global bipolar structure: on one side, European countries and a minority aligned with them, and on the other, a majority of countries, particularly Iran, Russia, and China, emphasizing independence, multilateralism, and international justice.”

In another segment of the meeting, the Governor of the Central Bank reported on the economic consequences of the snapback mechanism and stressed the need to activate domestic mechanisms to remove obstacles related to FATF compliance. He highlighted the opportunity created by the ratification of the CFT and Palermo conventions and emphasized the importance of leveraging this situation wisely to enhance the country’s financial and economic interactions with the world.
